Welcome to the rest of 2025! We are almost to the halfway mark for this year, and what a wild year it’s been.
News You May Have Missed
To date, as of this writing (June 21, 2025), I’ve had two of my own book launches: for Atacama (Sley House Publishing) and Doomflower (Encyclopocalypse Publications), as well as having spearheaded my publishing imprint, Stars and Sabers Publishing, for its first release Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers, and an amazing roster scheduling out through 2027 that you can see here on the books page.
On the upcoming books front, I have a new short story collection, To Wonder and Starshine, coming out in late July from Trepidatio/JournalStone. The cover reveal and preorders for this will be live very soon. This was a quick turnaround book deal! Can’t wait to share it with everyone. The cover is gorgeous. I currently don’t have a signing scheduled for this book.
Speaking of covers: I have now seen the cover for my Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) book, Dungeon Crawl at the Haunted Mall (2026; Chooseco), and it’s perfect! Read more about this book deal. I’ve been told that preorders for this may go live in late July for April 2026 release. There will be an actual book tour for this in Spring 2026, with some East Coast and West Coast stops. More soon!
This October, the sequel to my Nebula and BSFA Award finalist Lunarpunk adventure, The Inn at the Amethyst Lantern (writing as J. Dianne Dotson) publishes via Android Press! The Secret of the Sapphire Sentinel is one of two new books in the Amethyst Lantern series. A prequel, The Dawn of Dusk and Twilight, publishes in late 2026. There should be a cover reveal soon for the sequel, once again with cover art by Kim Herbst. I currently don’t have a signing scheduled for this book.
I’m coordinating with a couple of bookstores for potential late autumn book events, so stay tuned for that.
Conventions
I will be part of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) this July on a Star Wars: Andor panel titled “From Resistance to Rebellion” with date and time forthcoming.
I’m also spearheading a panel at Midsummer Scream in Long Beach about horror this August. More details soon.
So far, this is what’s planned regarding my own book events for the latter half of 2025. Keep up to date by signing up for my newsletter and following along on social media. Ad astra!
